Terms of Service

1. What Sera is

Sera is a workspace for practitioners who review blood work for other people. It stores your clients' results, normalises their units, and reads each value against a conventional reference interval and a published practitioner target range. Sera is not a medical service and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The target ranges are drawn from functional and longevity medicine literature and are offered to inform your interpretation, not to replace it.

2. Not medical advice

Nothing Sera displays is a clinical recommendation, and Sera deliberately generates no protocols, supplement suggestions, or treatment plans. Every clinical decision made about a client, and everything you tell them, remains yours and is made on your own professional judgement and within your own scope of practice. Sera does not verify results against the issuing laboratory, so any value informing a decision should be checked against the original report.

3. How your data is stored

Your clients' data is stored securely and encrypted at rest by our database provider (Neon Postgres), transmitted over encrypted connections, and isolated to your workspace. When you upload a lab report PDF, its extracted text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to identify the biomarker values; under Anthropic's commercial terms, that data is not used to train their models. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

4. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information when registering and to keep your account details up to date.

You are also responsible for the client records you create. By entering someone else's health data into Sera you confirm you have a lawful basis to process it and their informed consent where one is required — under UK/EU GDPR you are the controller of that data and Sera is your processor. Requests from a client to see, correct, or delete their record come to you; Sera gives you the export and delete tools to answer them.

5. Your data

You own your data. You may export all of your data at any time in a standard format. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time — deletion is permanent and irreversible.

6. What we don't do

We do not sell, share, or monetise your data in any way. We do not show you ads. We do not use your data to train machine learning models, and our AI provider does not use it to train theirs. We do not share your information with third parties except where strictly necessary to operate the service (e.g. hosting and PDF-parsing infrastructure).

7. Availability

Sera is provided “as is” without warranty. We aim to keep the service reliable and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time.

8. Liability

Sera is not liable for any health decisions you make based on information displayed in the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sera's total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page tells you when they last changed, and the version you accepted at registration is recorded against your account. Sera does not currently send email of any kind, so we cannot notify you of a change — please check this page. Continued use of Sera after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
